We warmly invite you to come to an Alpha course taking place in Bardwell early in 2007. It will run for 10 Thursday evenings, starting on Thursday 22 February. It will start at and end at

About Alpha

Questions about God have fascinated people since time began. The Alpha course aims to present the core truths of the Christian faith around which Christians of every major denomination can unite. It follows a syllabus on the book 'Questions of Life', which is a practical introduction to the Christian faith. Topics include: Who is Jesus? Is Christianity relevant today? Why and how should I pray? Does God heal today?

Existing Christians, and non-churchgoers, alike, have found this course helpful. Thousands of Alpha courses are now run in many countries and in all denominations.

Each session of the course in Bardwell will start with an informal supper, followed by a short talk and an opportunity to discuss, in small groups, any questions or concerns about the Christian faith.

If you would like to know more about the course, or are interested in coming along, please contact Angela or Michael on 01359 251111 or Dinkie Williamson on 01359 251416.

Frequently asked Questions
What is the Alpha course?
Its a series of informal evenings spread over 10 weeks. You do not have to come to it each week although the group will miss your contribution of you can not come! The first and last sessions will begin with a sit down meal.

Who is it for?
Anybody who is interested in exploring the Christian faith, without commitment, requirement, or worry about upsetting others or being rejected.

What happens on the evenings?
Each evening will begin with a light supper ( bread and soup, or something similar) which we hope people will share in providing on a bring and share basis, then after a short talk by one of the team, we the group will break into smaller groups to chew over what has been said. We will begin after 7.45 and end by 9.15. About half way through we will spend a longer time spread over a Saturday looking at the person and work of the Holy Spirit.

Will I be expected to attend church or be more Christian after the course?
Definitely not. You may find you gain a deeper confidence about your own faith and spirituality after the course which alters the way you feel about things, but this is something personal to you.
